Mayowa 'Mayor Dice' Ajayi is the 4th child in his family having 3 seniors
ahead of him. From a very young age he was known in his neighbourhood and
surrounding areas as Mayor Dice aka (Mr DICE) 'My Cherikoko Master'. Mayor
Dice has been in the Nigerian music scene for the past 7 years and singing
professionally since 4 years and is now signed with gRock Records Intl. a
New York based record label headed by CEO Sham Pain where his roots are in
Ibadan, Nigeria.
Mayor Dice was born and brought up in Dopemu, Agege local government Lagos
Nigeria. He is a native of Ekiti State but a 'Lagos boy' at heart and
Ekiti by blood. At a tender age
of just 20 years old Mayor Dice possesses all the star qualities needed to
be a success in the music industry, he said, "the swagg and style of my
music is more than what people may think... I have been following the late
and great Baba Fela Kuti, Ebenizer Obey and other great Fuji musicians". I
believe it's my calling and I have the ability to sing what I feel. Music
is in me and it's really calling on me to do big things.
Mayor Dice has much trust in God and himself. He believe's he can make gRock
Records Intl. proud because he is good in what he does and always keeps it
real when writing or voicing tracks... 'Mayor' went on to say "I don't
try to make what I can't do and I have never imitated any artiste or anybody else. Many times I ask myself
about me and my music is it true to
the industry and myself?.
Growing up many people tried to dis-sway Mayor
from music because some people thought he was forcing himself into music
but more importantly they saw his god given gift to sing and connect, and
with his self beliff and determination he stuck to his dream and in
2010 was signed by gRock Records Intl, Mayor added "Big ups to Sham Pain the
head of gRock Records Intl. he never lets me down, when ever he thinks I did not
do a song in the right way to blow big time, he pushes me to be greater as
he know I have it in me.

knows that I am dedicated and always try to do my best in what I do".
